Actor Dhananjaya fondly recalls his time in Mangaluru, where he worked as a techie at a prestigious IT firm in Kottara for six months. This experience allowed him to immerse himself in the art and culture of the coastal region. When he received an invitation to attend the Dasara celebrations in Kudla, he eagerly accepted. "I had often heard about the Navratri celebrations. Returning to experience the place in a new light was nostalgic," he reflects.
During his leisure time in Mangaluru, Dhananjaya attended various Tulu dramas and Yakshagana performances. Despite having only a basic grasp of Tulu during his stay, he enjoyed the dramas, emphasizing that art transcends language and highlights the importance of connection. "I gained valuable insights from that experience," he adds.
Dhananjaya also commends the coastal region for preserving its traditional art forms and values. "The essence of any place lies in its language, art, and culture. Witnessing the people of Karavali embrace and uphold their cultural heritage was inspiring," he expresses. Reflecting on his visit, Dhananjaya feels fortunate to have observed the tiger dance and even had the opportunity to perform on stage. "Though I'm not a proficient dancer, my experience performing Huli Vesha in my film 'Kotee' gave me a glimpse into the world of dance. Art and culture are essential for our sustenance, and we must strive to protect them at all costs," he emphasizes.
